About Momma Nellies

Janelle had been making her Grandma’s salsa recipe and taking it to work off and on for several months. Everyone liked it so the salsa making continued. One day, the chance addition of a few extra ingredients changed the salsa forever.

The salsa went from being good to being great!  Janelle's team at work told her “You should be selling this in stores". Janelle couldn’t make the salsa fast enough to keep up with its newfound popularity. She began selling the salsa to her teammates and friends, which allowed her to continue producing. Before long the business was sustaining itself.

Summer 2008

An application to the Vancouver Farmers Market resulted in tremendous exposure and growth for Momma Nellie’s Goodies. The 2008 summer season started with 23 market dates booked but quickly grew to over 70 dates completed by end of October 2008. Momma Nellie’s Goodies has had a strong presence in a number of community markets including Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, White Rock and Fort Langley. Momma Nellie’s will also be present at a number of winter and Christmas markets this season, being booked up until late December.

Because of the success during the summer season Momma Nellie’s Goodies has become a recognizable brand to consumers. Many of whom have eagerly asked where they can find Momma Nellie’s outside the Farmers’ Market.
